Student Project: Self-Guided Walking Tour, Manchester, NH

Undergraduate Communication Arts students in “Film History: Theory & Method” at UNH Manchester recently collaborated on a research project about the history of movie theaters in Manchester, NH. The outcome was a 90-minute self-guided walking tour created with ArcGIS StoryMaps. The project begins with an overview of locations in the tour, including a photograph of each theater, and then presents information and an audio commentary about each theater. Directions on how to move from one theater to the next are included. The pandemic precluded students from giving the tour in person to the general public, but they did present their work to the UNH Manchester community at an app launch event held in our classroom. Congratulations to the students for seeing this project through to a successful conclusion! (To take the tour in person, you can access the StoryMap here using your mobile device)
